Warm Up: Clear your desk and prepare a paper for a “Check Test” on chapters 9-11 of The Pigman.
Classwork: Discuss chapters 9-11. Complete activities 14 & 15. You may write on the handouts.
Homework: Read chapter 12 and answer related study guide questions in CRS.
WEDNESDAY:
Warm Up: What do you predict will happen when John and Lorraine entertain a “few intimate friends for a quiet little drink” at Mr. Pignati’s home? 1/2 page minimum.
Classwork: Catch up – Have you completed your reading and their related written assignments? Make sure you’re caught up on the following work: Read chapters 1- 12 and answer study guide questions in CRS. Complete activities #5, #9, #14, & #15.
Homework: Read chapter 13 and answer related study guide questions in CRS.
THURSDAY:

Classwork: Read chapter 14-15 and answer related study guide questions in CRS. Complete activities #5, #9, #14, #15, & 17. All must be completed by Monday, February 26.

Homework: Read chapters 4 & 5 and answer related questions in CRS. Quiz over chapters 1-5 tomorrow.
TUESDAY:
Warm Up: How do you express your individuality? Do you wear unusual clothes? Style your hair a certain way? Listen to certain kinds of music? Explain in detail. 1/2 page minimum
Classwork: Take a quiz over chapters 1-5. Discuss chapter 5.
Homework: Read chapter 6 and answer related questions in CRS.
WEDNESDAY:
Warm Up: Complete Valentine’s Day comparison puzzle on the overhead.
Classwork: One notebook paper, complete teacher chart (Activity 5) for The Pigman.
Homework: Read chapter 7 and answer related questions in CRS.
THURSDAY:
Warm Up: Check yesterday’s teacher chart on overhead. Discuss extra credit assignment for the GMS Drama Club’s presentation of Middle School Mania.
Classwork: Complete activity #8. Discuss chapters 6 & 7.
Homework: Read chapter 8 and answer related questions in CRS.
FRIDAY:
Warm Up: Recall a time when you apologized to a friend. How did you feel before the apology? How did you feel afterward? Describe why you felt that you owed your friend an apology and how the apology made you feel. (1/2 page minimum)
Classwork: Discuss chapter 8. Complete activity #9.

NOTE CHANGE: NOVEL TESTS WILL BE TAKEN ON WEDNESAY, February 7th DUE TO THE SNOW AND THE TCAP WRITING TEST. Students must read a book found on Ms. Allen’s book list. This assignment was made on library day, January 3rd.

Warm Up: None
Classwork: Take vocabulary #8 quiz scheduled for last Friday. Collect final forms of descriptive personified qualities paragraphs. Discussed previously learned writing tips and reviewed for Tuesday’s TCAP Writing Assessment.
Homework: Continue reading book report novel. Novel test will NOW be taken on Wednesday, February 7th. If you still owe me a personified quality, please submit it in final form by Tuesday.
TUESDAY:
Warm Up: None
Classwork: Collect any remaining final forms of descriptive personified qualities paragraphs. Review comparisons: similes. metaphors, personifications by completing related handout. Watch film: Literary Devices and take notes.

Classwork: Read Scene 3 of Let Me Hear You Whisper (310 – 319).
Homework: Study voc. #9 terms for Friday’s quiz.
FRIDAY:
Warm Up: Who is your best friend? Why is this person’s friendship important to you?
Classwork: Distribute copies of The Pigman and the related study guide. Introduce the novel by reading “The Oath.” Discuss the key story elements. Press conference activity with the book’s author, Paul Zindel.
Homework: Read chapters 1-3 and begin working on related study guide questions.
