WEEK ON MARCH 19 - 23

MONDAY:

Warm Up: Clear you desk of everything.
Classwork: Introduce and begin reading aloud the play “A Raisin in the Sun” (4-15) in READ magazine.
Homework: None

TUESDAY:

Warm Up: Read the Langston Hugh’s poem, “A Dream Deferred.” Explain what you believe the author was saying about dreams, and then explain why you think Lorraine Hansberry chose “A Raisin in the Sun” as the title of her play.
Classwork: On notebook paper, complete related ?’s 1-7 and written response (handout). Turn in when finished.
Homework: On notebook paper copy the drama terms and their definitions from the “Rapping It Up” handout. Then, on a separate sheet of paper, # 1-20 and write the answers for the fill-in-the-blank rap.

WEDNESDAY:

Warm Up:  Collect “Rapping It Up.”
Classwork: Read and listen to the 1942 radio play “Sorry, Wrong Number” (560-571) in Moments.  Complete a plot peak for the radio play.
Homework:
None

THURSDAY:

Warm Up:  Discuss the plot peak for the radio play.
Classwork: Working in pairs, complete the related ?’s for “Sorry, Wrong Number.”  Class dicsussion of story to follow.
Homework:
None

FRIDAY:

Warm Up:  Prepare for quiz over “Sorry, Wrong Number.”
Classwork:  Take quiz over “Sorry, Wrong Number.”  Take notes from a cassette on dialogue.   Read “Prinderella and the Pransome Hince” and “They Think They Had It Tough” () in READ magazine.
