WEEK OF MARCH 26 - 30

MONDAY:

Warm Up: Clear you desk of everything.
Classwork: Discuss TCAP test-taking strategies. On notebook paper, complete Benchmark Test #6. Introduce and begin reading aloud the radio play “The Wolf” (16-23) in READ magazine.
Homework: None

TUESDAY:

Warm Up: Review for TCAP/discuss next novel test
Classwork: Continue reading aloud the radio play “The Wolf” (16-23) in READ magazine. Complete the following written assignment which is due in final form by next Monday, April 2nd:

Write an original humorous radio skit. It should make use of one of the three literary devices from the plays we read in the READ magazines: HYPERBOLE used in “We Really Had It Tough,” SPOONERISMS used in “Prinderella and the Pransome Hince,” and SATIRE used in “The Wolf.” Your final form should be a minimum of 1 typed page or 2 handwritten pages. It should be written in the format of a radio script. Include a cast of characaters. If stage directions or sound effects are necessary, remember to place them in parentheses. Remember, that dialogue should reflect how characters speak not how they write.
Homework: Begin working on original “radio skit.” Final form due on Monday, 4/2.

WEDNESDAY:

Warm Up: Copy film notes outline from overhead.
Classwork: Introduce film and watch Elements of Drama. After the film. class will review and discuss notes that were taken.
Homework: Conitnue working on original “radio skit.” Final form due on Monday, 4/2. Also, get started on you independent book for the final novel test to be taken Tuesday, 4/24.


THURSDAY:

Warm Up: Have you ever been falsely accused? How did it make you feel? Write about a time when you were wrongly accused of something. Perhaps you once wrongly accused another person - - how did you feel? Explain how it affected you relationship. (1/2 p. minimum)
Classwork: Introduce and begin reading aloud “The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street” (534 - 546) in Moments.
Homework: Conitnue working on original “radio skit.” Final form due on Monday, 4/2. Also, get started on you independent book for the final novel test to be taken Tuesday, 4/24.

FRIDAY:

Warm Up: Clear you desk of everything.
Classwork: Continue reading aloud “The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street” (534 - 546) in Moments.  Take related “Check Test.”  Complete ?’s 1 - 9 (handout) in CRS.
Homework:
Conitnue working on original “radio skit.” Final form due on Monday, 4/2. Also, get started on you independent book for the final novel test to be taken Tuesday, 4/24.
