MONDAY:
Warm Up: Have you ever found yourself in a situation in which you went along with someone’s plans, suggestions, or ideas without thinking them over objectively for yourself? Did a friend persuade you to take part in risky behavior that hurt or could have hurt someone or someone’s property? Have you ever found yourself agreeing with soemone’s viewpoint when you really do not? Explain. (1/2 page minimum)
Classwork: Read aloud the play, “The Wave” (20 -31) in READ magazine.

TUESDAY:
Warm Up: None
Classwork: Finish reading “The Wave” if necessary. Take related “Check Test.” Complete a Venn diagram which compares and contrasts the Wave and today’s gangs. Discuss the lesson Mr. Ross’s students learned after experiencing “The Wave.” Begin watching “The Eye of the Beholder.”

Classwork: Finish watching “The Eye of the Beholder” and discuss its relevance to the Holocaust. Read autobiographical account “I Have Live a Thousand Years” (4-11) in the READ magazine.

THURSDAY:
Warm Up: Have you ever made a sacrifice for a friend or a loved one? Have you ever gone out of your way to help another person even when it might cause difficulty or problems for you? Write about a time when you put someone’s needs or well being before that of your own.
Classwork: Read play “Hannah Szenes - A Song of Light” (4-14) in READ magazine. Take related “Check Test.”
